I decided against this as a Christmas card, because I wanted to draw it by hand on card so it was more personal.

I lvoe poodles. They're clever and confident (well standard and toy ones are anyway) and they have a nice coat when they are not clipped the "classic" way. I think they have really nice faces as well. The person I did this for had a mini poodle jsut like this one called Squeaky lol :P
Your poodle's done well to get to 14 bless him :) My retriever is also 14 and is starting to really lose the plot, poor old doggie. He's happy though. He keeps waking us up at 4 am though to go out in the garden or jsut cuz he feels like barking haha.

yeah, he's done well. but he is dumb as a rock. and has always been dumb as a rock. we've never been able to prove it, but we think there may have been inbreeding involved. I mean, you always hear "they're such smart dogs" and I just go "then WTF happened here?" he never learned to swim, not even dog-paddle. he fell in our pool and needed to be rescued by my father. and never learned the proper way to use the bathroom is lift your leg. the backs of his front legs (from him squatting like a female dog) are permanently discolored. so not the smartest, but lovable.
omg lol he sounds funny. My retriever is as dumb as anything too, and my little Tibetan Terrier (we have three) is REALLY stupid. Like she can't even sit half the time. You tell her to sit and she gets so excited at the prospect of a reward that she tried everything she can think of. She jsut permanantly looks blankly at you but it melts my heart every time. She's so adorable :) I should post some photos of them up cuz they're beautiful.
My retriever can't cock his leg anymore, he had strokes lately (mini onces) and lost mobility in his legs. The vet says he's not suffering as far as he can see so we are keeping him comfortable. But of course the moment he suffers we will have to do the right thing for him.
