Yeah, that's me in the photo :P There is actually a crazy cool story behind this one. I went through a phase where I took some of the obscure romance fantasy-of-manners books I read and turned them into movie posters. I never really turned this one into a poster but I thought the picture was powerful enough on it's own (and I couldn't be bothered).
Basically, Daughter of the Forest is the book I based this picture on (by the way, it's amazing read, Juliet Marillier is fantastic). The book itself is based on Irish folklore, where a girl called Sorcha's 6 brothers are turned into swans by some crazy witch lady. The only way to overturn the curse is to sit in complete silence while Sorcha sews 6 shirts to place on the swans, which will change them back to men. The problem is that she has to sew the shirts from these plants that constantly cut her as she turns them into thread (imagine how long that would take, making each individual thread!). It takes her years to sew the shirts, during which she is raped, attacked, kidnapped by the Britosh and falls in love, the whole time not being able to utter a single word. This picture is symbolic of her self induced silence and the act of sewing, and her location in the forest. :)
