I did this in metals class for my angle raising project. I'm not very thrilled with it, but it's ok. Angle raising uses hammers to shape the metal into different shapes without stretching it (compared to sinking, which thins the metal out) The bell of the flower started as a single copper disk, and was then hammered into a cone without having the need to cut a seam in it.
