awwww lol. my girl sat on my shoulder and came ell over with me. took her to like 40 local concerts in her lifetime of 2 an a half.
maybe oneday i will find a new one but i'm thinking of ferrets 10 year lifespan beats 2 years on rats. heartbreak every 2 years sucks

I know... ;_; they say they are supposed to live 3-5 years, but I have never passed 2...

mimi(my first) lived to 2 and a half :/ but then her cage mate who was a year younger, died a month or two later, i think she died partially from depression :/ Cuz she was'nt herself.
Though i'm glad to have had mimi for those almost 3 years. She was a GREAT friend. And i loved her like a child. And one of these days i'll get her tattoo'd on me. Thats how special she was to me.
Do you know how COOL it is to have your rat loved by the entire town? Mimi and i were in the paper 3 times for just being... a girl and her rat out at local events xD Allt he kids loved her and wanted to pet her every time i went out. Even to play in the yard. the little girls next door always ran over and just LOVED them.
And a good chunk of my friends got rats because they met mimi andf fell in love with her.

Aww...yeah, I have actually seen rats waste away after losing a cagemate... ;_; I know it can happen.

...I should definitely try to bring my rodents out and about more often! xD They are just a little scared and anti-social, and I'm not sure how it would go down. x3 I want to take them to the flea market though. :3

oooh =D i actually feel in love with rats at a Volunteer gig i did at a childrens museum. One of the head ladys there bred rats and so they had some rats in a cage to let the kids watch. And since i worked there i could play with all the animals xD And... well.. just fell in love with them xD
However i rescued mimi from a Feeder bin O-o so her 2 and a half years were a real gift to her. And i think she knew that cuz she was just the SWEETEST most loving rat i've ever had. And i miss her so much.

As for social... lol Mimi LOVED people, LOVED kids. I used to gather the kids around and make them all put they're hands together and i'd put mimi in they're hands and she'd run up and down they're arms xD They loved it.

Sorry.. i just.. i love talkin about mimi :/ helps her live on a little bit if i spread the word about how great a pet she was to me xD

My Mochi is from a feeding bin, too. x3 I put my hand in, and he kept biting my ring and paying attention to me, the others were either ignoring me or were afraid, so I pulled him out and bought him. x3 And he is THE most loving rat I own right now. x3 He just loves to get cozy near me on my bed and take naps. x3 And when I call his name, he goes NUTS. x3

Lol Yea Mimi was an albino too ^^ And i miss her oh so much. And i was rather depressed... oneday i went to the pet store to get a new rat, once mimi and her cagemate princess died. And i saw this adult female albino(reminded me of mimi) So i reached in to get her, she bit me, ran up my arm, and escaped into the store x_x so i said eh.. no thanks O-o But then they gave me a littl eb aby albino boy, who was sick when i got jhim so he died and the store wanted me to bring them the body. But i'd already given him a proper burial :/ Which is what i did with all my deceased rats. Bury them in the yard.
So i said fuck that and went to pet smart and got a boy, who ended up being the biggest jerk of a rat EVER. and i bought him a friend from a breeder, and he was happier for a few days with his new brother. but then they BOTH started biting me x_x

This rat in the photo though, he was VERY anti-social when I adopted him (from a lady in Brooklyn who had an accidental litter), but by having him out every day, he has become a good boy, and he is nice to me [but not my other rats] xD

Meh... My moms taking care of them right now... Currently i have 4 girls.. (all named after anime characters except sasha) Theres Chii, Hazaki, Henrietta, and sasha. Now.. sasha... is a black hooded and so was hime/princess Mimi's old room mates.. and i dont know what it is with me and having evil black hooded's but both of them were monsters O-o now i dont blame sasha for being a brat cuz she was my sisters rat befor she got bored of them and dumped them on me >_> so thats how i ended up with 4 girls O_o And 2 boys x_x They lived in seperage cages of course. But right now my moms taking care of them, as i'm in england right now with my boyfriend xD so moms taking care of them and apparently has resocialized them all into peoper rats O-o Tho... Chii is getting rather old... And she had a VERY rough start x_x Mimi decided she did'nt want a 3rd cagemate when i brought chii home..
So she decided to bite chii in the neck and almost kill her x_x So chii had to live in the travel cage for a while, and i had to clean her wounds and put human ointment(works just as well on rats) On her neck every few hours.
And she did have some bad infections grow x_x which had to be popped or they'd keep swelling and tear her skin open x_x Rat infections are icky :/ Grey bad smellin crap comes out ICK.
But mimi is still aliev and well now, having survived near death the day i brought her home x_x and does'nt mind having 3 sisters livign with her dispite her traumatic encounter with mimi.
And HOLY SHIT longest comment ever...

EEEK, yeah, Fuel bit open the neck of one of my other rats too (or so we think), and he had to get stitches. It cost a lot xD But it healed perfectly, so I'm glad it's over and done with. x3

I miss having girl rats. x3 Maybe I will have girls again next time. :3

But i love how big and fat the boys were.. though those balls are a hassle O_o One of my poor boys had diaria oneday and well.. the balls got in the way.. and i had to keep cleaning him back there x_x poor guy

LOL. xD My BOSS at work had his wife there the day I brought Mochi in. The wife was whispering something in his ear, so he turned to me, and said, "what are those things under the tail?" And I said, "Uhhh...he's a boy." And my co-worker Lucille (who also has rats) turned around and said, "They're his balls." xD xD xD

My ratties would sometimes come with me on a bikeride o.o My boke had a basket on the front xD And i'd line it with a blanket or a jacket and let them sit in it and hty'd egt up and poke they're head up catch the wind xD Soem of em liked it, some did'nt. Mimi used to just stick her head out and just feel the wind rushin ageanst her face xD I think she liked it alot.
