This is a full artistic liberty blind box commission for an "African Chimera" for a client. I approved of anything major like the reptile tail, and followed a few desires (canine face shape, blue eyes, large ears) but otherwise this was a sight-unseen commission where the client wanted to wait and see the results when they opened the box upon arrival... and since there was no approval process I never actually drew this thing out before building it, just totally winged it and let it come to life as I worked.
This uses 32 furs, replica horns, and real porcupine quills, and is a combination of: serval, caracal, lion, black back jackal, painted dog, kori bustard, crake, ostrich, puff adder, porcupine, mandrill, striped hyena, spotted hyena, zebra, and kudu antelope. Some animals take more part than others with the mandrill being the smallest part with just the colorful nose and eyelids, meanwhile the puff adder gets the majority of the tail (and like 1/4 the body mass lol) all to itself (which upon approving a reptile tail they wanted one just like I gave Chibity so that is what they got!)
The head base is by Drakonic Knight with the eye area cut larger and eyes set higher. Paw pads, claws, hoofs, horns and tongue by DVC, rest of the work is my own.... and I put WAY too much work into this! In the long run the client got more than they paid for as my ideas kept growing and getting more complicated and I reached a point of not even caring if I was doing more work than I was paid for because the creature in my mind ///had to be made/// no matter what... so I really hope people enjoy seeing this crazy combo creature because hot dang this took FOREVER to sew and skjfsdghsfgsgh XD

Which hey by the way, I totally would LOVE to do more blind box chimeras and I have the materials needed for an Australian one and if you'd like to claim it feel free to contact me: the idea is a zebra finch face, with cockatoo crest, koala ears, thylacine back and tail topside with snake scale underside, kangaroo feet, platypus hands, tazzy devil chest, and a scaly tummy.
I also have this neat sort of purply periwinkle feather fur I am dying to use to make a chimera creature akin to this with and pair with like dusty blue and lavender <3

I posted this to Twitter, but it bears repeating here...
Just when you think you've seen every species, every combination of fursuit... along comes a daring combination. Just like with Clockwork Creature's Chaos fursuit, I find this chimera to be fascinating. The vision to merge and blend so many species from the same continent is inspired.
Though I hate to ask - do you plan to post a version of the picture with guidelines as to where each species fit in?
