Rinara (she/her) is a transgender eel girl. She is supposedly the avatar of an ancient sea guardian, and her duty is to test the worth of any would-be hero who wishes to travel to the Underworld, which only she knows the entrance to. However, she doesn't actually care much for her given position, and is instead working with a secret group investigating anomalies caused by the ancient magic separating the two worlds. The group believes the two worlds were once connected, and are looking to eventually destroy the barrier altogether.

Rinara is very intelligent but also very shy and aloof, often finding it difficult to speak her mind or actually care about things around her. Others often see her as cold and judgemental, but ultimately trustworthy. She's a skilled calligrapher and uses powerful magic by shaping her noodly body into the shape of magical runes (but only those that can be drawn in a single stroke).

She travels a lot but keeps in touch with her childhood pen pal Cuíca. When the two eventually meet again as adults, Rinara ends up developing huge crush on her...

Cuíca and Rinara are two characters from a story idea I've had for a potential game/comic/something-or-other, but for now they're just OCs...
