Cuíca (she/her) is a frilled-neck lizard priestess and the eldest daughter of the chief of a somewhat-secluded mountain village. She rarely gets to leave, but is very active and friendly and always loves to meet new people who happen to stop by. However, she also has a tendency to be too naive and over-trusting of strangers, and is sometimes seen as slightly dim-witted. She leads a daily morning prayer to an ancient sun god, which serves as a community bonding activity for everyone in the village (who are mostly reptiles).

Her frill gives her various sound-based abilities: when extended, she can hear noises and voices from far away like a parabolic mic, and she can flawlessly parrot back any sound she has heard. She also knows some healing magic.

Her knowledge of the world outside the village is somewhat limited, but she keeps in touch with her pen pal Rinara who travels a lot and keeps her informed of various goings-on. The two originally only met once as children, but eventually meet again as adults and, after Rinara confesses her feelings, eventually develop a loving relationship.

Cuíca and Rinara are two characters from a story idea I've had for a potential game/comic/something-or-other, but for now they're just OCs...
