Godzilla is at his best when he is taken seriously as a metaphor for the arrogance of mankind being careless with powers they do not fully understand and as punishment an indestructible nuclear beast of immense size and power lays waste to those who have no power and must live with the guilt of their irresponsibility... so how about we make that monster a pollution fighting superhero that dances and plays rock volleyball!
The "Showa" era of Godzilla is where you will find most of the bad eggs of the Godzilla franchise but those films while lacking in quality are still entertainingly fun movies, not all of them are actually bad but it all depends on what you're looking for in a "so bad its good" film.

Yeah, the original Godzilla was a serious metaphor for the destructive misuse of Nuclear Power.
But then turning that monster into an environmentalist fun-loving hero is really backwards. This is Godzilla, not Captain Planet, lol! I'd watch those just to see how campy they are and laugh at it.

They're all references to a few Showa Godzilla films and the fact that a lot of his old appearances had him super cock eyed.
You could look up a whole bunch of compilations of the funniest Godzilla moments and they're mostly from that era, he does a flying drop kick, gets a tree shoved in his mouth by King Kong, he flies, yeah he actually flies in one of the movies, he even talks a few times, shits crazy dawg.
