Well practice makes perfect and in your case its very true. My mother is a pro but shes been at it over 40 years and took many collage classes to achive her lvl. she specialized in animal art. She did portrates of families and there pets the kind you would hang over the fireplace sort of thing but the bottom line is its an enjoyment you share with others and that is a wonderfull thing. Im hoping to light her desire to do art agin when I get home if she is willing to do so thru the furry fandom but its all up to her.

Probly the hardest thing in art is learning how to shade the art to make it look 3D on a 2D page when you achive that you will be making master pices. When I used to draw it was very hard for me to achive it and not lose pachents with it. I found myself messing up alot and being not satisfyed with it tore it up in fustration :)

My father has been painting on a professional level for 20+ years now, and walking in his footsteps is rather tough, seeing how easily the pieces come to him,I hope to make my dad proud with my art someday.Im really glad youve taken a liking to mine,it means alot to me that people are so kind about my art as im learning.

Id love to see some of your mothers paintings via email sometime if you have any on file, ,and

no I dont at this time but i will soon i plan on making digital copys of all her work when and if she desides to ill be uping a FA page for her stuff as well so stay tooned :) its all up to her if she wants to get commisions like you do but we will see. I have to show her what im talking about first. Being her age she dose not understand much in the way of new tech and such. she dose not have any anthro art yet just RL animals im sure she can adjust to this style.


As far as your father being proud im sure he will be no matter the outcome of your art. You cant expect to be like him becuse your style will always differ from his. Every parent is proud of there children even thogh some cant express it. My Dad would not even hug me till later in my life when I was 20+ I broke him of that it took some years but I never gave up. Now he will start the hugs :) He thoght it was not what men do silly hu but thats what happens when your rased in a strict family like he was.

well, to be honest as far as ive seen in this fandom, she could just continue with real animals and do very well getting commissions, like  -Star- she does mostly real animal looking things.

My dad last year told me for the first time he was proud of me for anything, I think he was the same way, just figured men dont compliment children, silly aswell. :)

Yerp he is very good but I figured my mother could do the simpler arts. I did talk to her about it today and she is all for it so soon you will probly see a page for her here on FA as soon as I get her art work digtal probly next month or so ill put a link on my page when I do.

As far as for your dad yea thats just the way things work I gess. The funny thing is when I moved out and years later I saw that my parents were just as me lost in a world and just trying to make sence of it all. We are all the same just have different expereances that make us behave different but deep down we are the same.
