Like most kids, I was on both sides of bullying, and I don't have fond memories of either role.
This is inspired by a moment walking home from school when I was about ten or so and I sort of snapped. This guy unzipped and pulled my bookbag down and hit me with a bag of trash as I tried to pick my stuff up. He walked on ahead, and I found a nicely-sized board with rusty nails in it and had every intention of, at the time, probably striking him in strategic areas with it.
Of course, walking half a block at double-pace with a large, rusty weapon in your hands gives you a chance to rethink your strategies, and to put it simply, I decided that this was probably just a bad idea.
This was the only time I've been humiliated and enraged enough to want to REALLY hurt someone, and it's far from being something I want to remember. The memory keeps coming back though, so I decided to funnel it out into a drawing this time.

We all went through that stage it seems. I never got a plank with rusty nails, but I have turnd around and kept beating on a bully till he bleeds "A Christmas Story" style. That's when you reveal what pansies they were and they leave you alone. I got tranfered to 3 elementry schools because I didn't take bullying well. They got the last laugh in the end.
Heeh, I know the feeling. Though I was more on the recieving end by far.
A really shitty birthday, I had someone pull on a strap in my pants in order to trip me as I was walking through the hall. Next thing I know I'm bodily throwing him up against the wall and pinning him there.
Didn't even know what to do about it as the rest of me finally caught up to realization. I just held him there like that till a teacher came.
My hardest problem was parental conflict of logic. "Defend Yourself" But also, "Don't fight and cause Trouble" Sometimes I wished they were more lenient to sadism.

When I was a kid, I once took up an interest in jogging. Cus I've always been slightly overweight.
Anyways one day a bunch of kids were playing baseball. As jogging is seen as an unlikable activity around here (as is everything in Alabama) one of 'em took a baseball bat and whacked me over the head with it. Hard.
I have a delayed pain response. So I had about 5 seconds before I was gonna start doubling over in pain. So I stole his bat, smashed it against the pavement (I succeded in bending the aluminum) before running away.
I passed out when I laid down at home.
All I've ever thought about that situation is "I'm damn glad I didn't hit that kid." Cus I'm certain he wasn't near as tough as I am, and would definitely not be able to take it.

Admittedly, I ended up retalliating a lot in school. I went through the initial years of middle school with the usual "HURR HURR U IZ TEH G33K N I WILL SMASH" and got beat up. A lot.
This stopped when I wailed the crap out of some bully in 7th grade with a music stand. One of those old, clunky, black, probably made of iron or something music stands. Honestly, I think the blow to the kneecaps really stopped him for the moment, but I didn't stop swinging.
Things went downhill from there, but oddly enough, I didn't get into much trouble. The kids that used to beat me up stopped doing so, though, and most kids ended up a little afraid of me. I think it was mostly because they knew I would win now. I got mean.
It's not really healthy, and I don't advise it if it can be helped, but then again, sometimes you can only take so much. Nice to see you get it out in a drawing rather than, y'know, shooting up a school or something. >.> It really is an effective piece, particularly with the shadows over the eyes and whatnot.

Well, it was a fairly long time ago, and I think all the getting it out of my system was picking up the board and promptly realizing that I'd be screwing up my life permanently if I used it = Relatively speaking, I didn't go through too much harassment--just a few encounters with a really annoying prick.
I did bite another kid once... that was the last fight I was in, and of course it was about nothing important =D
