Back at the height of my love for My Little Pony, I was in love with a crossover fanfiction called Fallout Equstria and wound up doodling a three-legged pony base that I had a lot of fun with. The main designs I made with it are thus, and while the characters aren't entirely FOE related, I still enjoyed making up vague backstories for them.
The Ravaged Soldier is inspired by RoboCop. He used to be your average soldier/police officer in a cyberpunk type city who just wanted to help civilians out and keep his people safe. Then war broke out extremely violently and viciously around him, destroying nearly half his body in an explosion. He was given prosthesis and permission to retire, but he now has a cold iron heart hellbent on justice. His bosses aren't one to pass up an opportunity or free living weapon, so they upgraded him and sent him off on his bloody, but honor-bound rampage for revenge.
The Fearful Feral is a mysterious pony. How did she lose her fore leg? Why does she live in the woods all alone? Why does she flee from other sentient beings? Was she abandoned in the woods as a filly for being born with a missing limb? was she the only survivor of an attack deep in the woods? Is she a true Wood Witch? Who ever she is, she seems to thrive in the wilderness all on her own, more animal than person.
The Scarred Slave has only survived as long as he's had because of a fire burning in his soul. He was born and sold into slavery and spent all of it chained and haltered, but never did he stop sassing and fighting his masters, even as the scars of their punishments built up on his body. Finally his master made him attempt to plow a field of sharp rocks, whipping him onward until the plow broke and a sharp rock became lodged deep in his hoof. The hood became infected and was amputated, and missing a limb he became too handicapped to be bothered with anymore. Finally he was given his freedom and let loose, but still with a slave's bridle on his muzzle to shame him. Still, the Slave knows that the bridle can be removed, and his life is now truly his own.
The Crimson Hero was born missing a limb, and never saw any difference between himself and those with four legs. No childhood bullies could phase him and no fretful adult could make him doubt. Confidence was the very core of his nature, so it was a surprise to no one when he began to do heroic tasks in his adult life, chasing off monsters, seeking out treasure, and more. On and on he'll gallop into adventure, no speedier or slower than if he had all four limbs.
