Great to cut loose and draw a personal piece of art every once in a while. To that point, here is one that I created a few weeks ago. Once I found out what species they had decided to make this lovely lavender lady I knew then and there that I had to draw her. (A bandicoot?! Are you kidding me?! That is downright awesome!)
This one turned into a nice little environmental piece featuring the maiden marsupial. Like some of my other resent personal works, I really aimed to play up the lighting to help ground the featured character into the scene, rather than have the model jumping out of it. The end result is very soft an believable. It really looks like Perci is on that stretch of beach, as the warmth of the setting sun envelops the air.
Working for myself really allows me to play to my own strengths, while also taking a few risks without fear of messing everything up. I am more than thrilled with how this piece came out. Its expressive with emotions I rarely depict and the whole thing has a soothing vibe.
Alright, back to Commission work for me. If anyone else would like to have something done be sure to let me hear from you.
