Charles - Phases (1/?)

Charles lately had been stuck in a snag in his life. Despite having moved away from his parents' place, finding a hard working and well paying job, and feeling like an accomplished adult out in the world, his soul still screamed out to answer another call; Charles wanted to be a father. However, Charles had never been too good with ladies (and honestly didn't find much interest in trying to get with someone), so Charles was at first at a loss for how to fulfill this new calling. During a chance drive, though, Charles took a wrong turn, and spotted a nearby orphanage. His heart beating, he turned into the location, and after a heartwarming visit, Charles met two older kids, named Luke and Benton. The two of them had warmed Charles' heart, and upon leaving the orphanage, he had decided what he was going to do. He was going to adopt them both, give them a proper home, and be a proud single dad to them! However, handling a job and two kids can be a stressful endeavor, and Charles hasn't always been the most confident individual... just how much will his life be changed by his decision?
Wow, I'm actually doing something with one of my characters? Preposterous!
But seriously, as I said before, I want to try and do more with some of my characters, so here! The start of a sequence for basically the origins of Charles the Chub (here's his original pic: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28676400/) and his family. I'm not sure how long it will take to create all of the parts (I'm honestly not planning to get this done in a set time), so please be patient with how I release parts, as I'll probably do pieces of art in between them. Currently, I'm planning on doing at least around 10 parts (but we'll see how many I do), and the majority of them will probably not have fully fledged out backgrounds to save me time (and so I can focus more on drawing characters). Also, before getting too far into the sequence, I'll probably also finish and post the refs for Charles' two children, Luke and Benton, so look forward to that! ^^
