Warm summer air, sticky and sweet, clings to fur and dampens
its texture to collide with the sweat dripping from focused brows - a
puppy determined to win a prize for her friend, a slightly younger and
less coordinated but so in love with snails that it hurts to see such a
tantalizing prize dangled in front of their nose. Blinding flashes of neon
spark in the air as a bell announces the winner - and to the victor go
the spoils!
