"Simba’s roar called upon everyone in the kingdom, it was both an announcement for the start of a new cycle of rains and the end of the dry season, a new cycle for them all.

Kion, a cub barely out of his spots had joined his father’s side in the pride rock and observed with happiness how the kingdom reacted to that single roar, how herds moved away from rivers and closer to high ground, how birds flew, delivering the news to all those who had missed it for some reason. The kingdom was alive and breathing, and changed in order to protect itself.

For the young cub it was nearly… magical, in the strangest of ways. He wished he had a roar as powerful as his father, capable of changing everything around him for the better, instead of his squeaky one, but instead of glooming or feeling sad about it, his heart filled with pride and hope. His dad was able to do that, so there was something of that inside him too, and he could feel it, deep inside and yet to be awoken, but it was there.

Simba often told him about how the sun rose, bringing new experiences and new changes, and how he was not to sit to wait for his destiny, how he should continue his life, preparing for it, for it’s the present that leads to our future and the future that lead to our present. So, the cub didn’t let his inability to do what his father did get him down.

Afterall, Kion was not born a crown prince, but his duty was elsewhere, he would eventually find it, but for now he was a part of it all, a part of that living, moving and breathing magical world.

He was a part of the Circle of life, and it was through his father’s doings that he learned to understand it and want to protect it, which in turn made him ready for his destiny."
