I wrote this a week ago. It began as a random freewrite, but for whatever reason it didn't really end very positively, so I had to write a second part, and now I have a few of these little shorts. Hopefully somebody gleans something from these, because they were created in stagnant boredom. I didn't include any indications of species in the text, but this was deliberate. I invite you to imagine the characters as you will. =D
I'm afraid I'm a bit of a romantic type... But I hope you enjoy, and feel free to comment! and please read the second part!

With the rising of the sun would come madness. But here, now, was his.
The bed was also his. More so than any night before. It was also warm, warmer than it had ever been when Johnny was alone, and he refused to open his eyes. He didn’t need his eyes, not tonight, not to feel the one behind him. The soft, relaxed breathes he could hear. The hand resting on his waist he could feel. The lips, the tongue, the body he could still taste. If Johnny stole but a glance, he would surely wake his Sam with a kiss.
So he didn’t open his eyes.
He imagined in his mind the love of his inamorato, like vines of warm spring ivy climbing a trestle, creeping up from the base of his spine to the very tip of his tongue and down to the very bottom of his heart. He remembered walking, side by side, hand in hand, with his Sam through the downtown, the cool Michigan breeze gravitating him and his heart strings to the warm body astride his own.
But too, his inamorato was also his heart’s paramour. Memories of pain awaited in the shadows always. Johnny was damaged. The scars had scarce hidden themselves. He had hoped that they had made him strong, but a heart never beats the same once torn. His innocence had ended with his childhood, a morning long ago. His life was forfeit long ago.
A disparaged Johnny could already see it. A misery of lost dreams and a plot, long derailed, that ended with Johnny.
A choking sob escaped his throat as he woke. Sam, still his Sam, was there, worried, confused, pulling him closer, turning him around to face him, chasing away the nightmare. “Sammy!“ Johnny grasped at Sam’s slightly larger frame, clinging tightly, pushing his face into the latter’s chest as Sam kissed the top of his head, holding Johnny until he had fallen into a dreamless sleep, and then long after.
