Solsana and Soran are Lioqolas, an alien species that appears very much influenced by canines - in particular, the jackal. They are often seen as somewhat primitive by more advanced species, even though they live in fairly large towns that surround a city of giant pyramid structures; they are advanced in their own way but are by no means even close to joining the leaders in scientific or technological discovery. (think Gods of Egypt style). Outside visitors started to arrive and laws were adjusted and made to accommodate & ensure everyone' safety, much to the displeasure of many; but few dared go against the Emperor's law for fear of harsh punishments.

Notes:
• Both male and female Lioqolas come in a variety of colourations and patterns; females may appear brighter & males darker, but this is not a rule, as there have been cases of the reverse, or like in the case of twins.
• Males come to stand anywhere between 6'5" and 7'5", whilst the females range between 6' and 7' - but there are some exceptions depending on pedigree.
• Twins are rare, as the Lioqolas have slender frames that are not built for carrying more than one child, and complications usually occur, as happened with Solsana and Soran's mother, who did not survive childbirth.
• They have long life spans that are double the average human - it is uncommon for them to surpass 200yrs; they sexually mature at around 30-40yrs; it is most common to choose a monogamous life, however, it is not expected.

Brief overview on the twins:

The twins were raised by their father, a well-known military officer, so it was no surprise that both siblings grew up learning his skills and ended up joining the ranks themselves.

Solsana chose a rogue class approach to her occupation, preferring two blades as her weapons; she is fast and usually deadly when needed, but otherwise can seem distant and distracted (something she often uses to her advantage because she is always paying attention). She is often put to work on high-risk escort missions that lead in or out of the city, typically with dignitaries from other Lioqolasian cities. In her free time, she likes to go shopping through the markets or sit outside a quiet cafe with a book, but it isn't surprising to see her sparring with her brother. She is confident, sometimes borderline cocky, but she knows her limits when she's on a job and will ensure her charge is safe at all times. She was mildly disgusted by the idea of having outsiders living in their city, but held her tongue; whilst she is not openly racist, she will silently look down upon, or in disgust at, the outsiders. (Solsana stands at 6'3" and is 32yrs old.)

Soran, unlike his sister, has no real fighting preference and will use what he needs depending on the situation. He is most adept with sword and shield, as well as bow and arrow, and an excellent hand-to-hand combatant. He is usually in bodyguard roles within his home city, guarding special events or important meetings, and other such jobs. He is quiet and calm, scarcely letting a situation get the better of him except where his sister is concerned; they love to annoy each other, fight, argue, and generally pick on each other, but he will not stand for any insult against her. He trains daily for at least two hours, and enjoys learning new techniques; unlike his sister, he isn't as disgusted by the outsiders and is open to learning from them if the opportunity presents itself. (Soran stands at 6'9" and is 32yrs old.)
