'So this is the place. Nothing but a dead city with buildings hollow like an empty shell. Embraced by the layers upon layers of snow. I feel the gust of wind blowing through crevice of the city creating a sickening howl. It has become like this...
It used to be a place where technology evolves to create a better future.
It used to be a place where people can follow their dreams either failing or succeed in doing so.
It used to be a place where family and friends gather to celebrate.
There is so much life, activity and voices everywhere. Where neon signs glows to advertise you what new drinks or product they want you to buy. Where car speeds by next to you making your ears rings like bullets ricocheting.
Nothing, nobody, no one can expects it to suffer. There's nothing here. Not even bones or anything i can dig up.
Nothing. Everything is gone.
It used to be a place where my mind seems to spark.
It used to be a place where i can find an identity.
It used to be a place where i remember who my friends are...'

Hello there!
First of all, is this inspired by metro? Yes. Just getting that out of the way haha. I would like to thank you for enjoying the painting and reading the flavor text aswell, it means a lot to me.
So i plan to create some city post apocalyptic type of place where Dr.Rabbit reminisce about his potential past and where he is from. It's a more solemn type of nostalgia, the one that is filled with grief and sadness that one can't even remember why they felt that way in the first place. No one is truly prepared for tragedy and when it happens, the only thing that's keeping it alive is the memories carried by other people. Also i'm trying to step out of my comfort zone more and trying to experiment with new scenes in my head. I hope this is well received by you all!
Thank you for reading! have a nice day :D

The fact that you feel like your art doesn't fit here is exactly the reason it stands out so much! It's truly beautiful and unique. In addition to the paintings, you are also telling a story of a lonely but peaceful journey through a ruined but recovering world.
It's a shame you aren't more popular here, but your work is the kind of thoughtful and skillful stuff that I enjoy most.

Believe it or not, I know how you feel. My art is a bit different than what FA goers normally want. We have very different styles, but something I feel we have in common is a more deep, story driven outlook and our art attempts to capture that. I find that you find a niche and a group of people though that love your work. I for one love what you do. It's refreshing and it stands out for the very reason that is Is different than the standard fair here. So unlike a lot of people, I am not going to tell you what is right, but I will say this: Your character explores. He goes places that no one else goes. That seems to be what you are talking about. You can go somewhere where your art "fits" and be another fantasy background artist trying to get noticed, or you can show your work where it's something different, get seen, and have a real audience develop.
That's why I stayed. I don't fit the standard furry fair, but my characters are often anthro and there is an audience here who sees my work and appreciates what I do for the very fact that it's a little different. On DA I am just another username lost in a see of artists never to rise to the top. Here? I didn't have to rise to the top. I found a niche. Just like you. So if you leave, know that I for one will miss this niche you are carving out.
Just food for thought. Cheers. =^.^=
