While traversing the isles of the Alola region, Rose encountered a rather curious looking Raichu. Her limbs seemed to be made of some very advanced technology. Rose was curious about her but didn't want to pry. One day, while on a walk through a local park, Rose encountered the Raichu with one of her arms detached and she was trying to do some self maintenance on it. Rose decided to approach her and ask if she could help in any way. The Raichu was surprised yet thanked Rose for the offer but unfortunately there wasn't anything that could be done to stop the malfunction until she returned home to have her lover work on them. Rose then decided to ask about the bionic limbs and was surprised to find how open the Raichu was about them. She introduced herself as Selena at explained that her limbs where a new kind of bionic limbs designed to mimic natural movement. She explained that she lost her limbs in an cave in while exploring ancient ruins and, while she was recovering she was given an offer to be a test subject for a new kind of neural bionic limb that could mimic natural movement. She accepted and underwent surgery to have sockets attaced to her shoulders and what remained of her upper thighs. It was then she met the lead designer Melody, who would later become her girlfriend. She would move in with her after she was discharged from the hospital with her new limbs. Rose found Selena's story fascinating and offered to have her and Melody meet her boyfriend Bill and their friends Erin and Cyan. Selena accepted and the two left as friends.
