This picture is my favorite of the ones I took at the San Diego Zoo.
This is one of the Spotted Hyenas just as the Zoo opened. He wasn't fully asleep as while bracketing I caught him with his eyes open, but who cares, he is a beautiful animal and I love the shot.
Hyenas are awesome. c.c;
The Spotted Hyena is found in parts of Africa and one part of India, and is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN. This is a good thing, because we don't want to be at risk of losing the epic that is the Spotted Hyena.
