The first of two flat CG commissions for the very patient and very creative phelanmahoney.
This is his bear character, decked out in steampunk clothes.
One thing I very much enjoyed about this commission was that it forced me to realize my shortcomings as an artist (and hoo boy, I have a long way to go). So I must thank Phelan for forcing me out of my comfort zone and showing me that background composition and character interaction with said background need a lot of work. I'll be sure to try to improve on both these things in the future.

You do good work, this is very good work, and I am proud that my creativity and working with you is helping you grow as an artist. I am a story teller and writer so in my own way I know how the creative process can be. Take your time and do your best, this is why when I go to a con I never commission on a Sunday and try not to commission work on Saturday unless it's something with a quick turn around like a badge. Even then I buy prints or books or apparel on Sunday if I get anything. When I go to Anthrocon or Fur Fright I give the artist the sketchbook, arrange what is done and agree to a price so I can see they get paid on the first day of the con which is usually a Friday and I don't expect them back until Sunday or whenever the last day is. I'd rather the artist take their time to do their best work than see something rushed.
