This is a female Mallard at the San Diego Zoo. She is not one of the zoo's official residents (no ring on the leg) but seems quite content at the pond with the more exotic birds.

Mallards are everywhere. They can be found in areas of North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, where it is considered and invasive species.
