Yeah you dont see a lot of the big silk moths very often. When one does turn up it usually either incites a staring and picture snapping fest or it scres the hell out of someone.
The last time I saw one was months back when I went to Meijer (kinda like Wal Mart for people who dont live in the great lakes area), of all places, and it was flapping around in front of the entrance. I snapped a picture with my phone of it resting on my hand...and covering a good portion of it. I think it was a Polyphemus Moth.

polyphemus... lol mythology references. Yeah, I live around the lakes too. There's a Meijer and a wal-mart right next to each other in this one town about a half hour away, and everyone's always going to wal-mart XD it's funny, but a little sad at the same time.
