Right, so I've been imagining this scene for quite a while now and I'm happy to have finally depicted it!
I'm generally happy with the outcome, but I feel it can be even better. In particular I think I could have played with the lighting a bit more, but oh well.

LORE TIME!

Kitsune in my setting don't physically grow extra tails, but during certain techniques ghostly images of extra tails become visible. Each spectral tail corresponds to one "shade" a kitsune can project, i.e. the kitsune can detach a fragment of their consciousness and have it act independently. This feat allows them to overwhelm opponents, perform complex multi-step magic effortlessly and multitask in general.
