Suddenly, the darkness clouding my mind cleared.
From within these smoky wafts of shadow where I dwelt a bright ultramarine light filtered through, illuminating the black vapors like a summer’s twilight. Accentuated by a pair of white silhouettes on either side, a soft shade of pale yellow joined the blurred figure. I heard a sound which resembled the likes of thin, avian wings and felt a soothing, sweeping wind cross my face, forcing me to close my eyes. When I eventually glanced upward from the graze of breeze, I beheld a sight most curious and charming.
Startled for a moment, my vision cleared of the biting light after I felt a strange sensation of comfort and security; like I had been rescued. I felt my lips part as I took in the being before me; an angelic entity of radiance who sparkled with the translucence of a star. Long, flowing, oceanic waves of blue came billowing around her frame as a gentle smile graced her full lips, a strong blue light bursting from around and beneath her skin and highlighting the teardrop sapphire lodged in her crown.
“It is alright now, you are safe.” she spoke softly, her voice akin to that of a whispery tune of a lullaby. Her cupped ears perked softly as she frowned softly, a small disturbance on her fair visage.
“Your mind possesses many Nightmares. Fear not, friend, I will return until they are eliminated. You shall experience no more terror.” she gave me a tender smile, like a mother to their child.
And like that, I awoke with a sudden jolt from my bed, alarm blaring in my ears as my eyes filled with the piercing white of morn.
“Ah...a dream…” I breathed, slipping out of bed to begin my monotonous day.
