I don't see a problem with having pride in your sexuality, whether it's straight, bi, gay, ace, poly, etc. That said though, just a couple of things I'd like to point out. As sad as it is to say, a LOT of people still care what people do in the bedroom and continue to cause trouble for people in the LGBTQ+ community and pride can be used to help and has helped a lot of people. Second thing is, I'm concerned that it comes off as disrespectful to not refer to the LGBTQ+ community as such and call them 'HBI' (Which also has a different meaning by by the way.). If length was an issue, I'd think you could just say LGBT instead.

You're correct. I have no intention of starting a fight and I agree that Pride has helped a lot of people, but you need to understand that in such a safe part of the world for them as the North America and Western Europe, you have to admit that it's a bit redundant to have stuff like that over here where it's pretty much accepted by everyone. If gay pride is needed anywhere, it's needed in the same place the women's rights movement needs to be: the Middle East.

I disagree. There are a lot of issues still here in North America. There's still a lot of problems for people in LGBT circles which is why the pride needs to exist. As for your statement about the middle east, There is push for it I believe, like they are for women's rights, but the problems are the laws there are different, so it would take more measures to be able to implement it there and make it safe for LGBT people.

And the thing is, even if it was generally accepted everywhere, I still wouldn't see a problem with there being pride because of everything people have gone through and continue to go through and all of the work done over the years to make it more accepted.

But that's where you've got it all wrong. Disenfranchised groups expressing pride doesn't automatically demean anyone more typical or privileged. The only reason any straight people would feel remotely threatened by the presence of LGBT pride is because of a stubborn refusal to change with the times.
