Sam comes from a large family of siblings, he hardened himself over to prevail life's obstacles and learned to overcome problems with his intelligence, rather than with physical strenght. Sam is considered an avid bookworm (scrollworm in his case), and has a nearly-encyclopedic knowledge on Aztec literature, and other forms of media (and due to spending so much time in the present, he may also have knowledge on modern literature and media). Sam performs well in the Golden City's learning center, and is highly intelligent, and competent enough to form Aztec war strategies as a high-ranking general; however Sam is not interested in joining the Aztec army, or any sort of physical activity that he knows he is going to get injured for (But by a twist of irony his best friend is Karon, someone who is completely different from Sam in terms of personality, physical structure, and interests). Sam seems to be sarcastic, pessimistic, sadistic, and sardonic. Sam and Karon failed the Pok-a-Tok tournament they planned against the Travelers, and because of their loss, they had to hand over the map to the Travlers for the Golden City's aqueducts. Considering his attitude, and how he performed on the Pok-a-Tok game, it's implied that Sam has the potential to be a strong competitor, but he simply lacks the will and/or desire to utilize said potential and only does it when he sees fit.
WHILE LOST IN TIME
Sam was found at the Times Square Mall at Quantum Square; he was at the bookstore, searching for ancient Aztec history scrolls. Sam is respoinsable for finding the Vice-versa Resersal Mirror, which caused Violet and Cassius, Twilight and Danny to swap bodies for a day; when he was captured, he returned Cassius (Violet), Cassius (Violet), Danny (Twilight), Danny (Twilight) back to their original bodies, then he handed over the mirror to Vincent.
