Nicole calls in a favor to crash at Diasy's place until the heat dies down outside and around the city. Everything had been stirred up because of the reaction the Nexus had after Dylend was released from stasis. It would have been simply granted on a favor for a friend basis, but Diasy learned Dylend was new to being a spellfluxed. Because of this she decided she'd make the stay at the safe house a little more interesting and educate Dylend in a relatively safe space.
The first few transformations a spellfluxed suffers can be pretty intense, so heading that off and intentionally causing safe TFs in a controlled space is much better for teaching people. This way Dylend can get used to it before effectively being dropped in the deep end. Nicole is definately on the approving side of this because when she was spellfluxed she went through a bunch of unpleasent TFs and wouldn't put others through that panicked and confused.

I still consider giving the pooltoys in this setting these weird hoof feet the best decision still, makes them look pretty different than other people's designs. :D

Mostly correct. Spellfluxed in setting is a pretty one way process that a fair chunk sees as a curse but most are just like "eh it's a living".
This condition makes them very reactive to TF effects, but their own personal ability to affect others or themselves with it varies greatly. Daisy the mouse in this picture is very good at TF stuff within her theme space of pooltoy and other latexy forms. She'd also be able to reasonably help people turn back from a latex/vinyl based form by removing the magics holding the form in place.
Otherwise the average spellfluxed can always slowly recover back to what they personally consider their base form as long as the elements holding it in place fade away. Generally this means it'll take a bit more effort to recover than be TF'd though. Granted if you know someone that is good at turning people into the same shape as your base form you can kinda loop around and get back to your base shape that way. Generally travelers, the people most generally at risk of being TF'd, kinda give up on being their own shape until they are done travelling and are at the end of the current trip.
Dylend is being introduced to the weirdness of these shapes so that when he engages them for real he won't be blind sided and fall under their sway too much, because every shape comes with some minor mental influence at minimum.

That sounds quite complex. But to make it simple, this world has tons of triggers to be TFed, and some people are more prone to it and have to watch out where they are going or they loose their base-form until it wears off or they find a magic-caster to return them to their original shape. I see. Very intersting. ^^
