This is an amazing rock formation that you can see from 1 75 just outside of Caryville TN, and close to a giant cross and church with "Adult World" right next to it (odd..?). The best way to see it is heading twords Kentucky, but I shot this photograph on the side of the road while riding back home.
It looks almost like the top of the mountain collapsed, huge stone pillars shoot out from the peek like flying butresses. I kind of want to turn it into a pagan worshiping site or something, it's very similar to Externsteine in Germany.
Looking on Google Earth, this peek is at the end of a particular sub-range of the Appalacian Mountains that often has weathered, exposed rock at it's top and includes a nearby "Eagle Bluff". This particular peek doesn't have a name, so I took the liberty of naming it Mt. Rimpala. :P

I've driven right past all three on the way to Louisville! The minute I saw the adult store and giant cross next to each other, I knew exactly what it was... Some company plops down a place for the naughty right next to a pious/traditional farmer's land, and he feels the need to make his own statement.
Beautiful countryside through there, to be sure.
