They say people drink to forget, or to make them ease away the pain we feel inside.
But... Sometimes it's the opposite. The firewater frees us from the conventions of society and unearthens the feelings we hide deep inside. We feel them then, like no time else while we're amidst the rules of the herd.
At least how I am with it, though I don't drink often.
The poem, masterfully put together - and reminds me oh so accurately of the times I did that.
