Personality: Where once a sweet and timid young girl now stands a miniature titan of a woman, Ula has gone from being meek to being confident over the course of her life. Suffering from a terrible inferiority complex compared to her sister, who was much stronger, faster, smarter, and prettier than her in her eyes, she used those feelings of inadequacy to fuel her passion in life- Physical training. She is dead set on one singular goal- To protect her trainer, Valentina, from anything and everything life throws their way. She can come a tad unhinged whenever she feels helpless or weak, but is otherwise a commanding presence who demands respect. Stoic, firm, and only sometimes unfeeling, she does whatever it takes to get the job done.

History: Born and adopted alongside her sister, Eris, by Joseph and Val's mother, the two of them were each raised and trained to be their respective child's companion Pokémon. Growing up, Ula was always the runt of the litter, especially compared to her much more dedicated, much more distant older sister, Eris. She always seemed to be three steps behind, never quite taking their different ages into account. One day, Eris' trainer, Joseph, ran away from home, and was attacked by a wild Pokémon while she was unable to protect her. Seeing a flaw in her seemingly perfect sister, she was driven to never let that happen to her trainer. Her efforts were redoubled when she and Valentina set out on their island trials, while Joseph ran away from home and seemingly vanished from the world around the same time. She broke and rebuilt her body with severe training regimens, sculpting herself into a brick wall that could take any hits, and dish out the pain in return. She singlehandedly carried Val through her island trials, something unheard of in Alola!
This all changed one day when Ula found out that Joseph had been hiding in Po Town all these years, plotting to destroy the Tapu and disrupt the balance in Alola for seemingly no reason. And he was joined by extremely powerful Pokémon, far too many for Ula to take down on her own. In conjunction with Val, they travelled the world, constructing a team that could rival Joseph's... She met and recruited checks to all of his team members save for one- A mysterious young Primarina boy who, during their entire time doing battle, never once participated. Ula knew something was up, so one day, she goaded the boy into attacking her with... Less than morally upstanding tactics, he flew into a rage, and pulled the rug out from under Ula's feet- Up until that point, no Pokémon had ever knocked her out with a single attack, yet this boy rushed in with inhuman speed to deliver a Poison Jab that KO'd her instantly! Not only that, but the toxins hospitalized her for several days, the sight in her right eye completely lost, flesh molten away to be replaced by purple skin, and a seemingly non-functioning blue eye. If Joseph had something that powerful on his team this whole time...
