I think it's time to draw my hand-and-a-half and defend myself.

Done off the top of my head:

Rusca drew her sword in preparation to fight. Three of her enemies turned and fled their leader only to be stopped by an unknown person.

"I've got these three, take care their leader", he said.

The stranger drew his sword and fended off the three deserters with ease. Rusca took down her foe without trouble and sheathed her sword. When she went to thank the stranger all she found was the three followers and a tall cup with water and a rose in it.
