Another conceptual piece for the Wild West comic strip I am mulling.
This character here in the foreground is named Herman the German. He is a hangman who takes pride in his work; his gimmick is that most jokes revolve around him hanging people.
Herman was inspired by the real life George Maldeon, better known as the "Prince of Hangmen" who carried out many hangings at Fort Smith, Arkansas in the old West.
