I just genuinely don't understand any hatred directed towards asexuals and aromantics. Just seems like a silly thing to do, being unpleasant towards others for literally not doing something. Especially bizarre when it comes from other alphabet groups.
Why hate over literally nothing? Do you have insight as to why people do it? Some absurd level of devotion to the need to breed, perhaps?

It makes no sense but it is something quite comon. I am ace too and people usually think you are sick, was abused or has some mental problem. Instead of accepting that some people are different they assume these people have to be "fixed" and either force them into unpleasant situation or simply exclude them. It is really annoying.
Perhaps it is best with such individuals to refer to oneself as celibate just to avoid annoyance? I have noticed at the most hatred towards AS/R seems to come from other, "non-straight" groups, particularly with the connotation that it is somehow not a legitimate orientation. Seems to be one of the few groups left alone by the extremely religious for the most part, if nothing else.
Celibacy and asexuality are very different things, the first is when someone abdicates from sex while the second is a lack of interest on the subject (putting in very simple terms). Celibacy can be interrupted at any time but an asexual individual hardly becomes sexual as most are born this way (my case), having people trying to "force one out from asexuality" is a violence much bigger than making someone under the banner of celibacy to change their mind, so I don't think it would do any good to reduce the mockery. It is a quite complicated situation. Society as a whole isn't ready to understand asexuality yet, it is something that will take some time.
Yes, Thank you! Asexuality isn't a choice, whereas celibacy is. If a celibate person has sex they are no longer celibate, but if an asexual person has sex they're still asexual. It's all about attraction, not action. Hence why asexual is a legitimate orientation and not just a comment on someone's sex life.
To address the original question: I think aphobia stems from a place of ignorance. The best we can do to combat it is educate people on what those labels actually mean, and then the nuances that come with them. Aromantic people experience little to no romantic attraction, and asexual people experience little to no sexual attraction. Most aphobes I've encountered don't understand this.

I'd go further and say that not only aphobes but people in general don't understand our kind.
Like you said, an asexual person can have a sexual experience and that won't change anything because it is about atraction.
There are lots of stories of ace people having sex with their partners because they know how much it makes their partners happy, yet this don't make them sexual like the masses are driven to think.
It is something that they find contradictory. I had people questioning me why I draw nudity and pinups, I tell them that it is because I believe anatomy is beautiful and so is exploring its aesthetic.
People will eventually realize that phobias won't stop us from existing, what we can do is try to make ourselves be understood rather than staying quiet.
