Those snapping sounds are painful to read. It looks like Nyarai is trying to break Muko physically and spiritually. Only by grabbing the rope will Nyarai let Muko go as per the rules and yet that won't stop her from starting a second assault once they're separated. It's truly a scary situation between two adversaries of different skills.
