Sadly for Muko, she's only scratched the surface. Sure, it's fun because most of the matches are staged and the audiences are entertained. It's sexy because they have sensual clothes that are alluring to the audience and distracting to the opponent. It's entertainment, but it doesn't change the fact that pro-wrestling still has a bit of sport and combat experience required for the job. And sadly, you need to endure pain in any sport and fight for the sake of succeeding in a sport, especially if you want to keep it fun for the audience.

Referees are typically in on what goes on during matches, it's how they make sure to keep the pace of the match on the right track. But they are also usually told to let the match play out, watch for any submissions so they can see a tap out or make the wrestler break the hold due to one reason or the other, and to count any pinfalls as if they are the ending one. So currently the ref not stepping in to stop her makes sense.
Now the ref could eventually step in if they think that she is going too far with the hold and trying to actually hurt Muko, or if the bunny can somehow grab one of the ropes...unless rope breaks aren't part of this worlds rules for wrestling

Oh i have no doubt that the red would eventually step in if he felt it was needed. The way nyarai acts could very well be how wilds are in the ring, super aggressive like and vicious with their move set ((i really need to start from the beginning in case i missed anything earlier)).
Also with the way Muko has been acting through just this match, all of her screaming could be seen by the ref as selling the move or overselling. The ref could see her as a rookie while we, the viewing audience, know she's a complete loof

Oh no i got what you were saying. Thats why i said they'll move to a spot where they can see her hands in case she taps her opponent's leg or arm. In a submission hold the ref will slide in and ask them if they want to surrender. Just gotta see if the ref does that at all or if the match will solely focus on just the wrestlers
Yep you highlighted one pint of wrestling that is often missed. Fan enjoy the show and the more brutal it seem the better, but for the people on the ring, even if they try to pull their punches to avoid killing each other is still a strenuous and intense activity that is for a lot of strained muscles bruises, broken noses and what else(notice how the comic did not shun about the painkiller issue of this job). And in this context the "staged" aspect of the fights seem to be 50/50.
Right now Muko is gettign the second lesson about Beign a conbagal.
It would have been better if she had those BEFORE settign foot on ring to be honest, but hey better late than never...hope you enjoy it

Oof. Very much a duality here. Both characters approach it wrongly. One is overly aloof not understanding there is a serious side to fighting. The other sees absolutely nothing but the fighting and is overly aggressive if not violent because of it.
Very clever in that regard honestly showing an extreme contrast to further emphasize their flaws.
Only question is which of the 2 will eventually start to move past their flaw. Neither, just Muko or both?
