Randy "The Duck" Dunkley
Through the 90's, I was a WW2- Re-enactor, and I carried a period correct Camera into the events. Sometimes I would make a sketch from my photos. Here is Randy Dunkley, nick named "The Duck", who was a Member of the WSHA Group. This sketch was done in August, from photos taken the previous January, when we re-enacted "The Battle of the Bulge", in the high forests of the Sierra Nevadas. Pencil on Paper. Mine was a German made Agfa Karat 36. Still have it, though in needs some work as it's gooten sticky on the insides from old age, and dost. (Might have a light leak in the bellows but not soure. I missed my chance to take it to Samy's Camera in west Hollywood to get it looked over and fixed. Samy's camera is the best damn photography store, ever,)
The shutter of Dad's Rangefinder 35 had gotten a little sticky by the early 1970s. One of my brothers took it apart, cleaned it and reassembled it. It still works, 45+ years on. I picked up a slightly different version a couple of years ago, but it's the same camera inside -- and worked fine after the same attention. It uses a more modern flash connector, though.
