Shadow was created in a most interesting way. He was not born naturally like most anthros in his world, but is actually a figment of Thomas Black's imagination that was brought to life through a spark of magic that touched Thomas at a young age. Shadow then spent years as a conciousness slowly gaining power until he could take over Thomas's body and be released (see my pic titled "Transformation" to see what that looks like) He was not able to maintain control forever, though, and the two conciousness's would switch power back and forth until a magician by the name of Trei Owen forcefully separated the two, so both could have their own body and mind.
