Naru held Althea's shaking body within his arms, trying to ignore her gray hued skin as she shook from the cold damp dungeon cell. She had been down here alone for far too long- and she wasn't doing well. Most of her cuts and scrapes were infected, red and sore against her pale skin.
~She's much worse than we thought.~ Naru said to Carlissa, though not wanting to admit it.
~Ask her how this happened- who's controlling Toran? He would never act this way unless someone was using magic to control him.~
~She is far too weak to talk at all- none the less about him.~ Naru spat out the last word like acid, his feathers raising angrily. How could he do this to her? Sending her into the dungeon to die...
Carlissa was right- something had to be done before it was too late.
