Oh boy, it's that thing I mentioned in January as "the thing that I started last year but will finish in January of this year." Except it's June now. Yeah, I wasn't sure what to do with this pic for the longest time. I left it with flat colours, cel shading and a placeholder background for a good 3 months at least, but I finally came back to it yesterday and did something with it. The soft shading I did was kind of cheatsy-shortcutsy, but I think it works fine enough with the colours and the cel shading to back it up. I also used that one fuzzy brush, so it has a bit of texture to it. I kind of wanted to get it out the way tbh; the lineart is good but not my best, I don't think. This is something I largely drew 6 months ago, and I had to fix various small issues with Amante's anatomy later down the line.

So anyway, yeah, 6 months ago I felt like drawing some buff fire Pokemon. The ones I had in mind were Arcanine and Mega Charizard X, and after I started I thought hey, why not make the Charizard into Amante, who I drew a couple of years ago?

It seems mega evolving makes her muscular, but no less curvy. I always liked how Arcanine turned out, but Amante was a lot harder. For as much as I like hips, they've proven very difficult for me to get the hang of over the years. But in the end, I think these two turned out pretty good. And pretty pretty.
