"Piers, what on Earth are you doing?"

I hadn't drawn an otter in a really long time, so I felt like it.

Still, I'm not exactly sure what's going on in this picture.
I've ventured a guess that maybe someone has just saved him from a nasty fall by looping his paws with the ring to catch him, but... Well, I don't know. Piers is the kind of otter that can be quite foolish under the influence and I rather like the idea that he's put his own paws in the ring on a dare and is trying too keep balance while someone pulls the rope out from under him! Perhaps he's trying to convince himself more than us that he's alright! Or maybe not.

I'd love to read any ideas you've got to explain this scene!
