A young CAP first lieutenant moments before boarding this Cessna 182 for a sortie for the USCG over the Saginaw Bay one Summer in the 1980s. I operated the radio while riding in the back seat. We spotted a boat in distress near the Charity Islands. All the CAP aircraft I flew in were member-owned.
