Probably more proof of concept rather than good music, I decided to try a song where the parts are broken up into 3 quartets based on octaves, and the notes for those quartets are are switched around, based on a pattern of change ringing (for three bells).
Here's how it works: Let "I", "II" and "III" stand for quartets of sopranino and descant, trebel and tenor, bass and great bass, "I" standing the highest, "III" being the lowest. (These are all recorders, by the way.) Contrabass gets its own line.
"1", "2", and "3" are all the three harmonic quartets, each with their own rhythm.
....Octaves
.....I..II..III
H|..1..2...3
A|..2..1...3
R|..2..3...1
M|..3..2...1
O|..3..1...2
N|..1..3...2
Y|..1..2...3
.....1..1...1
You'll have to download this; it's a MIDI.
