So Samuel has been doing the whole Guild thing for quite a while. Albeit admittedly not as an 'Adventurer', at least, not in the truest sense. He did go out on the field yes but... well, he was never really doing any of the true labour. His job was... informatant, prop provider, the most support of the support. He couldn't really do much in the way of conflict because he had a bit of a limp, and he wasn't really in shape or battle-trained. He wasn't an adventurer really, and could barely class as even a sidekick. Still, his job was often super important when things were going right, and a group were heading in to the fray.
Wheeen things were going wrong and people were having to run away or get out however, he didn't really have anything to contribute. Also he was kinda slow. When it came to abandon ship, it seemed rather unlikely that anyone was gonna actually wait for the fact-checker with a limp.
