Well, my Government teacher is a really nice guy with a big heart...He seems to care more about the students he teaches and not about the standardized testing stuff. He's even been known to leave school to help students that were in real danger from stalkers and such. He is MAJORLY obsessed with fishing as well. Soooo...For Christmas, I decided to draw him a nice picture of a fish and surprise him with it! ^^ I handed it to him on my way out on the last day of school before break...I didn't get to see how he reacted to it, but I really hope he liked it! ^^

that looks like either a Brook Trout (spots on a green back, as well as a hooked mouth), or a Rainbow Trout (pinkish belly and freezing cold water ecosystem... or are those just bubbles?) ... i must say that's a fantastic job on the coloring... not a lot of people can pull of a fish like this.
Thank you! ^^ It was suppose to be a chinook salmon, but I don't think I pulled that off well. o.o Amazingly enough I managed to do this with just a couple of references for colors and shapes, but no copying! ^^ And that was suppose to be the water splash of it coming up out of the water.
OH NOW I SEE IT! actually it makes a lot more sense... but you have to understand that in the art and furry world i'm used to seeing stuff by those who don't know fish species very well...
i applaud the color technique still... because those are the colors that a chinook looks like when it's getting ready to spawn up the rivers... i don't know why i didn't see it before, i mean the hooked mouth seems so obvious now that i look at it again.
but none the less.. fantastic job.

Thanks! ^^ The only reason I knew what a chinook was is because my Government teacher is so obsessed with fishing, some days he takes a break from teaching us Government and teaches us about fish instead, which usually involves some of his famous fishing stories. XD Are you a fisherman or anything? Interested in fish? o.o
