I was going to work on this after xmas, but I've been bitten by the art bug and HAD to get this done. Dunno when the bug will wear off again D:

The tides were all wrong, the waters cold and dark. They used to be warm and vibrant with life, but now… they are ignored, and there is nothing he can do about it.
Not anymore.
A lesser one swims by, circling and closing in as it regards him from a distance. There is intelligence in this one’s eyes, and Thunder cannot help but feel a bit curious to its intentions.
He stopped in his effortless glide through the deep seas and watched as the yellow-eyed creature dared approach. A smile etched on the long ones slim snout, and Thunder now knew this was no ordinary denizen of the deeps.
"You are not yourself." It whispered in a soft charming voice, masking any sinister undertones the creatures appearance would first make. Thunder did not answer, only watched as the eel swam in a poetic dance around him.
"You have been wronged, you have been forgotten." It continued, its cold eyes ever examining the powerful being it has found this day.
"What of it to you? Small one." Thunder finally spoke, the first words since his betrayal.
"You are one of us. You are... were, our protector." It said, its voice almost melodious in its tone. Thunder raised his arm, and the eel took the invitation to wrap itself around the powerful appendage, taking refuge from the strong currents of the sea. "It is everything to me. To all of us."
Thunder simply stared into its yellowed eyes, almost sensing there was much more to this creature then first thought. He could feel that the creature wanted something of him, so he stayed quiet and waited.
"What they did was only tell the truth, the truth that they are no longer worthy to dictate the worlds fate. Do you not agree, strong one?"
Thunders eyes narrowed dangerously. How could this little thing know of the elders, of the old ways?
"What if I said there are others who feel the same way you do about them? Creatures like me, from both above and below. What if I said they would like to see you get your revenge against them? What if I said there was a way..." The eels face twisted into a feral grin, revealing small sharp spiny teeth.
" ... to give you back your strength?"
Thunder floated there, his glowing eyes fixated on the pale yellow of this small thing in front of him. He did not know others were granted the knowledge of the old ones, of his kind, the ancient magic’s of the world. In fact it worried him, and now things were put into perspective. The world was going to ruin around him, and the gods are simply too proud to accept it is mostly due to their inaction. He was running out of time to set things straight.
He looked to the eel, eyes narrowing to deadly slits. "I'm listening."

lol well he's supposed to have hands like the TMNT, two fingers and a thumb, sooo that was kind of a big Whooops on my part XD. Ah well, as long as his hand doesn't look messed us now.
And thanks, the idea for the snippet sort of popped into my head out of nowhere, so I just had to get both the pic and the story done today.
