This is a sequence involving Nicole that is a sequel to http://www.furaffinity.net/view/30637586/
The sequence takes place within my Manatear setting where everyone in subject to TF/Transformation.
Dylend approached his helped friend, now alike and proper. Together they'll have a fun time.
Much later once rescued or should it fade off they'll be as if they woke from a dreadful hangover. Little of time transformed will be remembered because of the intense mental influence of the change.

it's mostly due to context. Could be somewhere warm that they melt away, but if they are somewhere winter/cold they'll last longer, to the worse case of lasting until "defeated".
Though there is a population critical mass that these snowbeasts can reach, as far as the snow ones are concerned at least, where they'll MAKE the local area an ice biome where they can thrive.
The setting has various agencies that collect taxes from the regions they protect to fund "recovery agents" that are very good at fighting and dealing with the numerous problems.

In the manatear there are spellfluxed and not, spellfluxed only real trait is that they have been themselves long enough that you can't unperson them and identity death them. Snowbeasts can replicate without another being to change, be it some other creature or a spelllfuxed. If it isn't a spellfluxed you'd have to be an expert to tell that they were never a snowbeast before this point.
It's likely going to be like snow packed onto them, so an ice sprite doing it. Their being will have some level of memory of it and will make them a bit more likely to turn into one or make it easier to be TFd (hopefully less traumatizing) but this category of creature is on the nasty side in most cases.
Now there might be ways to trigger the organic core reforming and TFing that way, but that's in the way of potion type TFs, not something you trigger without help or personal expertise.
