Man, it seems like these dunes and sand lines span for miles out here, and no sign of that temple anywhere. It feels like I've been wandering around these wastes for what seems like weeks, almost out of food, my canteen running on empty, if I don't find any sort of clue as to where it is soon, i'll have to turn back. This entry and map aren't helping at all, this whole saying of "Anubis knows the way, a visit on the inside will be where you'll stay." Doesn't make a lick of sense, why would the god of the dead want to help me at all in finding his temple? No sooner did I say that than did a shadowy figure arise over the latest dune, putting a hand over my eyes to see that they wore hooded robes but bore the symbol of an ankh, surely they must know where the temple is or can atleast help with me this darn forsaken clue. Hailing them down and giving em a smile I attempted to communicate, it was easier than expected as they noticed me but not wanting to reveal who they were or what they looked like just yet, they asked if I was here to explore the temple as well, to which I agreed. It was obvious the stranger was male from his voice, yet it had an obviously cutesy tone, it seemed like he was on the verge of bursting out laughing each time he spoke with how much he giggled. He asked what my intentions were if I was to find the temple, to which I told him that I wanted to explore and document it for my journal, record the architecture and layout in order to preserve it's history, yet even with my intentions explained he didn't seem to believe me, so I handed the journal over to him to look at. After a very brief look and knowing what I sought for the temple, he revealed himself. He turned out to be a strange creature of the most golden yellow, an ankh symbol in the middle of his chest and a spike protruding out of his middle. Introducing himself as Anubis, that this was his temple and access could only be given to those who don't seek riches or valuables, but seek knowledge and his care from the deadly desert. This must have been what the clue meant, I had to meet and show the owner of the temple that I don't seek petty riches but more the scholarly aspect of exploring, to protect and pass on the information of the past to others. I was ushered inside, his figure almost towering over mine yet his charms and gentleness essentially radiated from his being, as if I could feel how much he cared for others who wanted to visit his most private chambers in the temple. Inside the interior of the temple was breathtaking, so much history and hieroglyphs scattered along the walls, pillars, and even some of the furniture inside. Hours had passed, my journal thoroughly filled with the designs of the architecture, history that may have been long forgotten, and I even learned a few translations of the hieroglyphs from my golden jackal friend, sleep was easily overtaking me and it was clear my host knew, beckoning a finger over as he placed a hand on a patch of hieroglyphs. The wall before him opening to reveal his most inner chamber, saying he enjoyed my company and was offering me rest with him. How could I possibly decline from someone so open and friendly to those who'd want to enter his home. He laid down on his back, letting me crawl to his side and use him as a sort of fluffy mattress, I had never imagined he'd be so soft and warm. This had been quite the adventure, and the payoff has been the best I could ever imagine. Best to rest for the night and have another glorious day of exploring with the owner of the temple itself, Anubis.
