A design I commissioned from my best friend, SuperJammersIITurbo. Specifically, his original concept can be found here and here. If you love Niall's design half as much as I do, that's who to thank. At the time of this posting he's not yet taking commissions from randos, but keep an eye open, he has a serious knack for pokémon character design.
Niall
Species: Furret
Type: Normal
Ability: Frisk
Nature: Naive
Item: Mental Herb
Moves: Sucker Punch, Thunder Punch, Charm, Protect
Sex: M
Age: 24
Niall is a self-proclaimed competitive trainer from Orre. Certainly not the greatest there is, though. He hasn't won any serious tournaments or conquered any major challenges, but he makes up for the lack of trophies with a collection of souvenir shirts from his travels. His favorite is his sweatshirt from the 2012 Pokémon World Tournament in Driftveil City. He's happy to participate, having spectated all his life. He's more interested in experiences than titles.
Oh yeah, and he's a Furret.
He wasn't always a Furret! In fact, the reason the sweatshirt is so oversized for him is because he was human when he got that, and he just can't bear to get rid of it. Niall was 22 years old when, on one of his trips, he received a kind of item he didn't recognize from anywhere he'd been before: "Sentret Candy." Supposedly there are places that trainers don't battle Pokémon to level them up but instead feed them candies specific to them. Niall, not owning a Sentret or Furret, ate the candy himself... the warning label said "Not for human consumption!" but he TLDR'd it and ate about 25 of them... enough to transform his body AND evolve it at the same time...! when he woke up from the sugar nap, he was a furry, stripey noodle of a Furret. A shock if ever there was one...
He's had two years to get used to it though. He hasn't given up on battling, either--in fact, he's joined his own team! It needed another member anyway... Niall rarely remembered to take time to catch any pokémon abroad, and Orre is a desert wasteland where wild Pokémon are difficult to find. It's just too bad for him that he's the weakest member of his party... and being able to speak with his teammates has revealed sometimes they know better than he does! That in itself is a battle... He specializes in doubles and rotations now so he can communicate with his party in real-time.
