Excerpt from Keep Fighting Chapter 19
They had been going at it now for several minutes, back and forth delivering bone rattling blows with power that would make the most hardened of individuals feel woozy. Over time, their iron hard punches had turned to a more malleable form, weakened by the effects of fatigue. Aidan panted heavily from the corner of the ring, gulping down oxygen desperately to catch his breath in time to go another round with the feline behemoth before him.
Lox meanwhile was also feeling the effects of battle. The taste of blood in his mouth was something he rarely experienced. No opponent had lasted this long against him thus far in the C.F.A. or his life for that matter. The lion hid his emotions well, but a mix of frustration and exhilaration welled up in him. On one hand he was used to dominating his fights, but on the other, there was a sense of satisfaction of coming across a worthy challenge.
The crowd was in awe of the two titans duking it out for their entertainment and were thirsty for the conclusion. Lox felt that desire and came forward from his side of the ring to finish what had been started. With no more time to rest, Aidan followed suit. Upon rendezvousing in the center of the square, Lox wasted no time in firing a right hook. Aidan swiftly dodged and rocketed a punch of his own but was blocked. The large feline countered with a heavy pawed left haymaker but Aidan ducked, letting Lox spin over the top of him.
Seeing an opportunity open, Aidan launched upward and wrapped his right bicep around the lion's throat from behind. He clasped that arm with his left paw to secure a rear choke hold. Aidan flexed hard, tightening the bolts of his grip to secure the submission hold, however, Lox stayed upright and flailed wildly in an attempt to break loose. The retriever held firm and wrenched Lox's neck tighter, putting more strain on the feline's trachea.
It became more difficult for oxygen to enter the lion's lungs. His legs, once sturdy as redwood tree trunks, began to waver from the strain. Aidan drove a foot into the back of his opponent's lower limb, causing Lox to drop to a kneeling position. A modified tug of war ensued with Aidan maneuvering to get Lox completely to the ground while the feline fought back to stay off of the canvas. At this point, it was a test of will just as much as a test of strength
A truly fantastic piece I commissioned from a wonderful artist that needs more looks. Lox has been given a new look. His hair was matching his untamed style of fighting and
juniorjosi cleaned him up some. How's the fight gonna end? Keep up with my page for the full details in Chapter 19!
